This weekend sees the return of the Dundee derby, one of the great fixtures in the Scottish football calendar.

Obviously, it made sense to do something related to the match, and what better than celebrating the players who have played for both sides in the SPL?

There are nine players who have played for both of the Dundee clubs in the SPL. To clarify, we were only looking for players who had turned out for both while in the top flight, not those who had made appearances for Dundee in Division One during "The SPL years".

So, who are the players to have turned out for both?

Aaron Conway

The Dundee-born winger started his career at United, before moving across the city for a fleeting couple of appearances at Dens Park at the end of the ill-fated 2004/05 season. Conway now plays for Peterhead.

Mark Fotheringham

Another local lad to play for both sides, Fotheringham started his career at Celtic before spending two years at Dundee. After a jaunt around Europe with Freiburg, FC Aarau and Norwich, he returned home to play three games for Dundee United. After spells in Cyprus and at Livingston, he returned to Dens.

James Grady

The Paisley-born striker scored nine goals for Dundee in the first two seasons of the SPL. After spells with Ayr and Partick Thistle he moved to Tannadice, scoring twice in 2004/05.

Lee Mair

A trivia favourite, Lee Mair started his career at Dundee, making 65 league appearances for the club. After a season at Stockport County he returned to Scotland with Dundee United, where he spent two seasons. Mair is now at St Mirren.

Beto Naveda

A slightly more left-field answer. The Argentine had a nomadic footballing career, spending time playing in his homeland, the USA and Israel before turning out for Dundee United in 2000/01. A year later he would be playing on the other side of the city, making two appearances for the Dens Park club before ending his career in Italy.

Stephen O'Donnell

The latest addition to the Dundee Club, O'Donnell played his first game for Dundee in the SPL earlier this season, and spent four years at United between 2001 and 2005.

Steven Robb

Robb started his career at Dundee in 2001, playing for five seasons. In 2006 he moved across the city to Tannadice, before three years at St Mirren. Robb is now playing in Thailand.

Scott Robertson

The recently acquired Blackpool midfielder started his career at Dens, making his debut in 2004/05. In 2008 he was brought to Tannadice by Craig Levein, during which time he made his full Scotland debut.

Lee Wilkie

The towering former Scotland internationalist spent eight years at Dens Park before moving across the road to Dundee United. He had four years at Tannadice before ending his career after a series of injuries in 2010.

Thanks to Stuart Milne who helped with the list.
