International football is so overrated. Or at least that's our postion on the matter for the moment. We don't like Brazil anyway.
Still, the dream is still alive for several SPL players, so this week we decided to look at the individuals in the 2012/13 season who have scored for their country in a World Cup qualifier.
There are 12 names on the list, from far and near. So who are these individuals?
Scott Brown
The Celtic midfielder scored for Scotland vs Macedonia in a qualifier for the 2010 World Cup. Brown has two goals for his country.
Omar Daley
Motherwell's sprint king Daley scored for Jamaica in their 2010 World Cup qualifier against the Bahamas. Nice work if you can get it.
Rory Fallon
The Aberdeen striker scored one of the most important goals in New Zealand's history, getting the winner in a World Cup 2010 playoff against Bahrain.
Shefki Kuqi
The only man on the list to score in three seperate qualifying campaigns, the Hibs striker scored vs Albania in the 2002 qualifiers, vs Armenia in the 2006 qualifiers and Wales in the 2012 qualifiers.
Joe Ledley
Celtic's midfielder scored for Wales in a qualifier for the 2010 World Cup, getting a goal against Russia.
Mikael Lustig
There can be few players who have scored in a more remarkable World Cup qualifier than Celtic's full-back. Lustig scored in the 4-4 draw between Germany and Sweden.
Niall McGinn
The Aberdeen forward upstaged Cristiano Ronaldo when he scored for Northern Ireland in their draw with Portugal in October 2012.
Miku
The Celtic striker has scored 10 goals for Venezuela, three of which came in qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup. He was on target twice against Peru and against Colombia.
Georgios Samaras
Greece's striker has two goals in World Cup qualifiers, scoring against Israel and Latvia in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.
Steven Thompson
St Mirren's striker scored for Scotland in a draw with Moldova in 2006.
Victor Wanyama
Celtic's Kenyan international scored for his country in a win over Seychelles in a qualifier for the 2014 World Cup.
Marius Zaliukas
Hearts' defender scored for his country in October 2012, getting on the mark vs Slovakia in a 2014 qualifier.
