India trail the hosts by 165 runs and 1-0 in the three-test series.
Both batsmen batted throughout the morning session, adding 95 runs off 27 overs without losing a wicket. Tendulkar was unbeaten on 152 and Raina on 112 at the break.
Dilhara Fernando tested Raina with a few bouncers and Suraj Randiv troubled Tendulkar from around the wicket but there was no breakthrough for the hosts.
Raina reached his century with a cover drive off Dammika Prasad for his 10th four, while Tendulkar continued serenely from the other end, reaching his 150 off 261 balls with one six and 20 fours.
