Goals from Antonio Di Natale and Cesc Fabregas ensured a share of the spoils for Italy and Spain in their opening Euro 2012 match.
Barcelona midfielder Fabregas netted three minutes after Di Natale had opened the scoring, latching on to David Silva’s short pass before knocking the ball past Italian keeper Gianluigi Buffon.
Di Natale, on as a substitute for the ineffective Mario Balotelli, had opened the scoring in the 60th minute.
The Udinese striker benefited from a pinpoint pass from Andrea Pirlo to burst through one on one with Iker Casillas, before clipping the ball over him and into the net.
