Ukraine 2-1 Sweden: Andriy Shevchenko rolls back the years with double

Andriy Shevchenko rolled back the years to net twice in Ukraine’s Euro 2012 win over Sweden.

The 35-year-old scored two second-half headers to cancel out Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s opener from close range.

Shevchenko reacted quickest to steer in Andriy Yarmolenko’s cross from the right at the near post for the equaliser in the 55th minute, then repeated the trick on the opposite side when the same player delivered a corner six minutes later.

Ibrahimovic was at the heart of the move which led to Sweden’s opener, retreating deep to link up play before eventually profiting from Kim Kallstrom’s cutback to side foot the ball home from six yards.

Sweden almost had an equaliser late on after a perfectly placed flick from Ibrahimovic, only for substitute Johan Elmander to blaze over from ten yards.
