Tony Mowbray is stuck in managerial limbo and won’t get out until Peter Lawwell and Jeremy Peace put aside their egos, according to Peter Grant’s agent.
Mowbray is the man Peter Lawwell has settled on to become the new Celtic manager, but his West Bromwich counterpart Peace is determined to get his money’s worth in compensation for a man who he believes his club can’t afford to lose.
Now Raymond Sparkes, who will broker Grant’s move to Glasgow as Mowbray’s assistant, says the highly skilled negotiators must find a way to break the deadlock.
"You have two very formidable negotiation parties on either side of the table. I've dealt with Jeremy Peace and and I've dealt with Peter Lawwell and both know exactly what they are doing,” said Sparkes.
"I think there is a blinking contest going on and I think it's a question of who blinks first loses. But I don't know if Tony is on his way because as I say, everyone is stuck in a jam right now.
"And whilst I can't speak for Tony, I think his view of things is that right now he is an employee of West Bromwich Albion. That's how Peter sees himself and until someone tells him different, that's the way it has to remain."
