Dejected Dougray Scott can’t understand Hibs’ attitude in cup final

Dougray Scott has said that he was mystified by Hibs’ performance in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden.

Hibs lost 5-1 to rivals Hearts in the first final between the Edinburgh sides since 1896. Lifelong Hibs fan Scott made the journey to Hampden to cheer on his heroes but left feeling his team hadn’t given everything.

The star of Mission Impossible 2, Twin Town and Desperate Housewives spoke to STV as he left the national stadium.

“It was not very good,” Scott said. “We didn’t play very well right from the start.

“Hearts played like they wanted it more than Hibs did and I find that hard to understand because Hibs had nothing to lose.

“Hearts went in as favourites and it took us half an hour to have a shot on goal.

“When we got the goal I thought we at least had something to look forward to in the second half.

“Hearts started as if they were behind. I don’t understand it. It’s very disappointing.”
