Celtic appear to be close to securing the signature of Marc-Antoine Fortune after a director at the player’s club AS Nancy confirmed he is in Glasgow for signing talks.
Although no deal has been finalised, the Parkhead club are believed to have settled a £3.8million fee with the French club, with the player looking increasingly likely to be new boss Tony Mowbray’s first signing.
A statement on Nancy's website reads: "In contact with several British clubs, Marc-Antoine Fortune is currently in Glasgow to visit Celtic."
However the club's director general, Nicolas Holveck, added: “No decision has yet been taken."
Fortune played for Mowbray during a loan-spell for West Brom last season, scoring five goals in 17 league appearances.
Despite reported interest from English Premiership clubs including Hull and Portsmouth, Celtic appear to be in pole position to get their man.
According to his agent Michael Maneullo, the French striker should make an announcement on his decision by tomorrow.
Meanwhile Holveck also said that Mowbray is interested in signing Landry N'Guemo.
