Celtic are interested in Nancy midfielder Landry N’Guemo, according to the French club’s director general.
The Glasgow club have been focused on Nancy as they look to secure the services of striker Marc Antoine Fortune, and have now retrained their sights on N’Guemo.
The Nancy website said yesterday: “Director-general Nicolas Holveck also confirms that the Scottish club is interested in Landry N'Guemo - also tracked by other clubs.”
The defensive middleman would fill the gap left by Paul Hartley, who has completed a move to Bristol City after being told he was not part of new Celts boss Tony Mowbray’s immediate plans.
Now formal discussions have been opened on the possibility of a deal for the 23-year-old Cameroonian, with Mowbray apparently keen on a loan.
Since joining Nancy in 2005 the 5’8” player has struggled to secure regular first team action, with just 62 appearances in four years.
