Kilmarnock have Craig Bryson back in their squad following injury as their injury woes ease after a difficult start to the campaign.

Bryson played in a closed-doors match this week alongside Allan Russell, Jamie Adams and James Fowler. All four have returned from long-term injury but only Bryson is fit to play first-team football this weekend.

Manuel Pascali is unavailable through suspension.

Mark McGhee does not have his problems to seek ahead of the trip to Ayrshire. His side have kept three successive clean sheets in the league but he will be without summer signing Jerel Ifil for Saturday’s game. Ifil joins defensive team-mates Zander Diamond (foot) and Davide Grassi (cheekbone) in the Pittodrie treatment room.

McGhee spoke earlier this week about his side’s struggles to find goals this season and has told Lee Miller that, while the squad will work harder to create chances, the striker will have to make the most of every opportunity.

Sone Aluko is still on international duty with Nigeria at the Under-20 World Cup.

Provisional Kilmarnock squad: M Brown, O'Leary, Hay, Wright, Old, Hamill, Bryson, Skelton, Taouil, Invincibile, Sammon, Kyle, Bell, Russell, Fowler, Flannigan, Owens, Adams, Kelly, Fernandez.

Provisional Aberdeen squad: Langfield, Crawford, Maguire, Considine, Mulgrew, Foster, Kerr, McDonald, Miller, Mackie, Paton, Nelson, Young, Pawlett, Fyvie, Hansson, Duff, Holm.
