George Burley’s Scotland squad has been hit by a swathe of injuries ahead of this weekend’s friendly against Japan.
The manager will be without Danny Fox, Kevin Thomson, Garry O’Connor and Robert Snodgrass.
Aberdeen striker Lee Miller has been called into the squad, as has Hearts stopper Lee Wallace, who had been a contentious absence from the original squad sheet.
Fox and Snodgrass had both been handed their debuts but have now been forced to withdraw. Fox picked up a hamstring tear and has a dead leg, while Leeds’ winger Snodgrass missed the 0-0 draw with weekend.
English born Fox had been cleared to play thanks to his Scottish grandfather, despite having already been capped for England’s under 21s.
Thomson missed Rangers’ 2-1 win over Celtic with a knee injury following his return from surgery to his cruciate ligament.
O’Connor played a full match for Birmingham as they went down 2-0 to Burnley and his reasons for pulling out are not clear.
Celtic midfielder Scott Brown is in doubt with an ankle injury. The Scotland star will travel to London tomorrow to see a specialist before being assessed.
