Unirea Urziceni coach Dan Petrescu says he expects Rangers to start out slowly before laying into his defence in their Champions League tie tonight. The Romanians thrashed the Rangers 4-1 in their last match, leaving Walter Smith and his side in shock at the bottom of group G.
Now Petrescu says he expects Smith and his men to go all out for a win as competition heats up for third place and the guarantee of Europa League football in the new year.
"I don't think a draw is good enough for Rangers," said Petrescu.
"Maybe a draw is good for us because, if we draw, we have a 90% chance to go into the Europa League (by finishing third in the group) and it's also a good achievement for us.
"Maybe in the start they will not attack too much but in the end, they have to risk because they have to win, if they want to qualify."
The former Chelsea defender also reckons that despite the precarious position Rangers find themselves in after two 4-1 beatings and a draw, it’ll be his side who will have more passion for the game.
"It's important for them but for me it's more important than for Rangers. They are used to these games," he said.
"For me it's the first time in the Champions League and I'm hoping that I'll have a big game tomorrow and win."
