George Burley has left Scott Brown and Shaun Maloney out of his 23-man Scotland squad to play Wales on November 14. Kilmarnock striker Kevin Kyle has earned a recall to the national side.
The Celtic pair have been left out as they struggle with ongoing injury problems, while James McFadden and Ross McCormack also return to the squad after regaining to fitness.
Heart of Midlothian defender Lee Wallace, and midfielders Don Cowie (Watford) and Graham Dorrans (West Bromwich Albion) all keep their places in the squad after picking up first caps in Japan last month.
Manchester United’s Darren Fletcher has been named despite concerns over his ankle.
Hearts winger Andrew Driver has not been named. The English born player is yet to confirm his allegiance with Scotland, but has said he is waiting on a call-up before making that decision.
