Irvine Meadow landed the big tie they wanted when they were paired with Hibernian in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup. The Ayrshire team became the first Junior side to beat league opposition in the competition's history when they beat Arbroath 1-0 on Saturday.
The tie will take place at Easter Road on Saturday January 9. Irvine had expressed a wish to play against a top flight side away from home and while the ideal draw would have been against the Old Firm, the match against John Hughes' high-flying Hibs side is one that will be eagerly anticipated.
Inverurie Locos face a Highland derby match away from home against Ross County and East of Scotland league side Edinburgh City were drawn at home to Montrose.
Holders Rangers begin their defence with a tip to fellow SPL side Hamilton while Celtic will travel to play the winners of the replay between Morton and Dumbarton.
There were other all-SPL ties to relish, with Kilmarnock drawn to play Falkirk at home and Aberdeen hosting Hearts at Pittodrie.
The other SPL sides face lower league opposition, with Motherwell's trip to Inverness Caledonian Thistle the pick of the bunch. St Mirren were drawn at home to Cowdenbeath or Alloa, Dundee United travel to play Partick Thistle and St Johnstone have an away tie at Forfar Athletic.
