The romance of the cup is alive and kicking after junior club Irvine Meadow were drawn away to Scottish Premier League form side Hibernian in the Scottish Cup fourth round. The Ayrshire club defeated league side Arbroath at the weekend to earn themselves the lucrative tie at Easter Road.
Meadow, who are the current SJFA West Region Superleague champions, normally turn out against the likes of Bellshill Athletic and Pollok, but will pit their wits against a Hibs side currently joint second in Scotland's top league.
Celtic have been handed a tricky tie with the prospect of a short away trip to either Greenock Morton or Dumbarton. Holders Rangers will begin their defence of the trophy at New Douglas Park against fellow SPL team Hamilton Academical.
Two other non-league sides are definitely in the fourth round and have been given interesting ties. Edinburgh City will fancy their chances after drawing Third Division bottom club Montrose, who haven't won in the league all season.
Inverurie Loco Works meanwhile face a 100-mile trip to take on fellow Highlanders Ross County. Wick Academy will face a momentous 600-mile round road trip to take on Ayr United if they can win their replay against Brechin City.
The last non-league side in the draw but not yet through to the fourth round proper - Cove Rangers - have Dunfermline Athletic lying in wait if they can win against Stenhousemuir.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle - relegated from the SPL last season - have been given a chance to prove their Premier League credentials with a home tie against manager Terry Butcher's former club Motherwell.
