Maurice Edu is weighing up a move to Ipswich Town after the Championship side bid for the Rangers midfielder.

The English side have an offer on the table for USA international Edu, who has told manager Ally McCoist is wants to move on from Ibrox.

Edu, 26, who played in America’s recent World Cup qualifying matches, said last week he was unaware of the interest from Paul Jewell’s club.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist said that he was hopeful that Edu would make a decision on his future soon.

McCoist said: "There is nothing at the moment.

"As far as I know, there has been an offer on the table from Ipswich which, as yet, he hasn't accepted.

"He trained this morning. I'm just hopeful something can be resolved sooner rather than later."
