Michael Fink trained with Rangers on Wednesday as Ally McCoist casts his eyes over a number of trialists ahead of their looming signing embargo.
The German midfielder is without a club since quitting Turkish side Samsunspor and is available to the Third Division side on a free transfer.
Fink, 30, started his career with Vfb Stuttgart, before moving on to Arminia Bielefeld and Eintracht Frankfurt.
A switch to Turkey to play for Besiktas in a reported €1.2m move followed in 2009, returning briefly on loan to Borussia Monchengladbach before joining Samsunspor last summer.
