Lee McCulloch and Steven Naismith will start for Scotland as Craig Levein names an experienced starting line up to face Lithuania on Friday night.
Six Rangers players have been included in the squad, including Steven Whittaker who will expected to switch from his favoured right-sided role to fill in at left back.
Elsewhere, striker Kenny Miller is rewarded for his fine club form with a starting berth up-front with Allan McGregor continuing his return from international exile with a place in goals.
Experienced midfielders Darren Fletcher and Celtic captain Scott Brown start in the centre of a powerful five-man midfield, flanked by Steven Naismith and Barry Robson.
However, there is no place for Birmingham City’s James McFadden or the re-called Paul Hartley who both find themselves on the bench.
Rangers striker Steven Naismith has been in fine form for Walter Smith’s men this season and will win only his fourth cap with veteran club colleague McCulloch returning for his 16th start in the dark blue colours of his country.
Scotland kick-off their Euro 2012 qualification campaign on Friday night against Lithuania at the Steponas Darius and Stasys Girnas Stadium at 7.15pm (GMT) before travelling back home to face Liechtenstein at Hampden on Tuesday.
Scotland team to play Lithuania: McGregor, Hutton, Weir, McManus, Whittaker, McCulloch, Robson, D. Fletcher (captain), Brown, Naismith, Miller
