Peter Houston hopes a fresh approach will turn around Dundee United's ailing form when they face Aberdeen this weekend.
The Terrors have gone five league games without a victory, last recording a win against Dundee on August 19.
"We've not had a great run of form recently," said the United manager. "But we've stripped it all back and went back to basics.
"We're really desperate for the game. I know on our day, I've said it many, many times, if we are at our strongest, we can beat anybody in the league.
"That's what we aim to do. Get back to basics, defend properly, improve on the five clean sheets we've got already and try and turn away the chances we've created. Which we haven't done.
"We know what we have to do, but we know it's going to be a very tough fixture."
