Celtic boss Neil Lennon says he is no further forward in his search for a new forward after making a second bid for Schalke's Teemu Pukki.

The Hoops boss expressed his interest in the Finnish player after losing Gary Hooper to Norwich City over the summer.

Pukki came off the bench as Schalke lost 4-0 to Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga on Saturday but so far Lennon has been frustrated in his attempts to bring him to Scotland.

"I've not spoken to (chief executive) Peter (Lawwell) today but we did go in with another offer yesterday, but at the minute they are not prepared to sell," Lennon said.

The agent of Werder Bremen's Austrian international forward Marko Arnautovic claimed his client wasn't interested in a move to Scotland.

When asked about his interest in the player, Lennon said: "We are interested in the player but whether there has been a bid in or not, I can't confirm, I wouldn't have thought so.

"They are two different types of players and both players that we like."
