Dundee won their fifth successive Scottish Division One game courtesy of a 2-1 success over Queen of the South.
The Dee edged in front after only seven minutes when Steven Milne picked out Jake Hyde and the Englishman produced a neat finish into the bottom corner.
And the lead was doubled in the 25th minute as Ryan Conroy crossed for Nicholas Riley to slot home from close range.
The second goal came in the middle of two bookings for Kevin Holt, the 18-year-old dismissed after 26 minutes for fouls on Riley.
But the 10 men got back into the game through Chris Higgins' header from Scott McLaughlin's cross after 54 minutes.
Barely a minute later, Dundee had Riley dismissed for his second booking, but they held on to move into second place.
