Ayr's excellent cup form continued as they edged past fellow First Division side Livingstone 2-1 in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.
Goals from Andrew Geggan and Michael McGowan ensured Ayr, who face a League Cup semi-final with Kilmarnock at the end of January, saw off the Lions.
Geggan scored the opener six minutes before half-time, prodding home Tom McManus' headed assist.
But the hosts were level four minutes later when midfielder Mark McNulty made up for an earlier missed chance by nodding in Mark Fotheringham's corner.
Ayr's lead was restored seven minutes after the break when McGowan slotted home from close range.
Livingston tested goalkeeper Kevin Cuthbert on numerous occasions but he made a series of saves from Paul Watson, McNulty and Iain Russell as Ayr held on.
