Falkirk manager Steven Pressley has confirmed defender Murray Wallace is on the verge of a move to Huddersfield Town.
The highly-rated youngster was the subject of bids from Championship sides Brighton and Ipswich Town.
However the player has decided to join Lee Clark’s League One side after playing for the Bairns in their League Cup semi-final defeat to Celtic on Sunday.
A fee has been agreed between the clubs and the youngster is currently having a medical at the Galpharm Stadium.
However the player will remain with the First Division club until the end of the current season.
Steven Pressley told Falkirk’s official website: “The deal has almost been concluded but there are one or two bits and pieces to finalise.
“Murray has been fantastic for us but it is not the parting of the ways as the deal means he will remain at Falkirk till the end of the season.
“It is an excellent bit of business by the Club for, with add-ons, it could mount up to quite a substantial figure over time.”
“Obviously we will miss him when he eventually goes as he is a terrific young player. However, this is part of our long-term Academy strategy and we are comfortable with the move.”
