Ally McCoist says he will not quit as Rangers boss, despite failing to bring in fresh faces on deadline day.

Nikica Jelavic departed for Everton on January 31 in a £5m move, with the SPL side then failing in a cut-price bid for Norwich City striker Grant Holt as a replacement.

McCoist was filmed exiting Ibrox after an 11th hour meeting on the last day of the transfer window, appearing exasperated at his failure to convince the club’s board to sanction signings.

The manager though has hit back at claims he was unhappy and insists he did not leave the stadium on Tuesday night unhappy.

Asked if he contemplated quitting Ibrox, McCoist answered: "Absolutely never.

"There must have been 500 snaps of me leaving Ibrox and about 10 snaps with my face tripping me.

"My face wasn't tripping me. I can assure supporters I wasn't storming out. I'm as committed to doing this job as I've ever been."
