Jorge Claros could make his first start for Hibernian in their weekend Scottish Premier League tie with Aberdeen.

The Honduran, who joined the club last month, had to return home to complete paperwork for his visa to move to Scotland.

On loan from Motagua for 12 months, Claros could now be pitched straight in to action on Saturday. Hibs boss Pat Fenlon says he will assess the player’s fitness, but is considering putting him in his team.

"He has trained this morning, all his paperwork is through," Fenlon told Hibernian TV. "He's available for selection.

"We'll see how he is tomorrow because he has done a bit of travelling over the last few days. But he is available to play."

Two players definitely absent for Hibernian this weekend are defenders Paul Hanlon and James McPake, with the latter impressing Fenlon with his performance in the Scottish Cup win over Kilmarnock.

"I think last week showed what we want from defenders," Fenlon said. "It set a benchmark - if you want to be in the team, that's how you have to perform as a defender.

"Players will either take that on board and grasp that or shy away from it.

"We'll find out over the weekend who is good enough to step up to the plate."

Leigh Griffiths is also banned for the fixture, with Tom Soares, Ian Murray and Danny Galbraith also absent.

"Danny is still struggling with his groin and Tom Soares has picked up a little bit of a hamstring strain," Fenlon said.

"He will struggle for Saturday."
