Fans of SPL clubs have now assessed their squads after the dealings of the January transfer window.
In January we asked fans what they hoped for from the window, now we see if their teams delivered. Tom Hall from the Scottish Football Blog talks over the many dealings at Easter Road.
How do you think your club did in the January window? Was there one standout piece of business that your team made during the window?
Hibs needed change in the transfer window. And change is what we got. Rumours are always unreliable but tittle-tattle does suggest that we missed out on target or two. Despite that Pat Fenlon's January "pick 'n' mix" has all but rebuilt the team and, when they are all available, given him a starting XI all of his own.
A reliance on loan deals might look like short termism, nothing more than a sticking plaster where major surgery is required. But there can't be too many complaints if the players on loan keep Hibs afloat
And one loan deal, the Honduran "pitbull" Jorge Claros, gave us a real bounce. We might never know the truth behind his two week trial at Murray Park, but the idea that Hibs gazumped Rangers for his signature provided something of a boost. We've now got to hope he's worth it.
Is there one player that you are pleased that your team managed to keep hold of during January?
Garry O'Connor remains. Leigh Griffiths remains. They might still have important roles to play in our survival. But keeping players won't be the tale of a transfer window be defined by who was jettisoned as Fenlon got rid of some of the detritus that previous regimes had lumbered him with.
Which team, other than your own, looks stronger after the January window? Any that anyone else made that you'd have fancied?
It was a quiet window. The sale of Jelavic weakens Rangers and, in turn, makes Celtic look stronger, one transfer that could define a season. Henrik Ojamaa - secured long term after the window had shut - looks a find for Motherwell and, given the season's soap operatics so far, the lack of transfers out of Hearts might be seen as a surprise.
Has the business that your team has done changed your expectations for the season?
This season was given up as a bad job some weeks ago. The aim has to be to finish ahead of the dunces in last place, whoever that might be. The style of our survival in the SPL, if we are to survive, might give clues for the future. But survival will now be the only measure of the league season.
Do you think the business your team did during the window will help or hinder crowds at your home games?
It's easier to lose fans than it is to win them back. There are people in positions of power at Easter Road who should be questioning their own performance as far as attendances are concerned. All Fenlon can do is try and win games, reverse the mismanagement of recent seasons and hope that the haemorrhaging of supporters can be stalled.
