Rangers manager Ally McCoist is set to complete a deal for Daniel Cousin early next week.
The Gabon international watched the club’s 4-1 win over Dunfermline from the stands.
The Ibrox club are waiting for paperwork from the Gabon Football Association before completing the capture of the man who left for the 35-year-old.
McCoist said: "We are still waiting on some paperwork coming through from the Gabon FA.
"I'm told it should hopefully be here at the beginning of the week, Monday or Tuesday. Daniel will come in and train on Monday.
"As yet he hasn't signed but we are very, very hopeful we can get that done."
Cousin left Rangers for Hull in 2008.
