Andy Ryan's late equaliser salvaged a point for Hamilton in a 2-2 draw with Dundee.
Steven Milne's penalty put the hosts ahead 11 minutes from time but Routledge had the last word by levelling in the 85th minute.
Jon McShane slammed in a 12th-minute opener from close range to set Hamilton on their way as they looked to exact revenge for the 6-1 drubbing Dundee handed them back in December.
But the hosts pulled themselves level eight minutes after the break when Ryan''s handball allowed Ryan Conroy to dispatch a 20-yard free-kick into the top corner.
Lee Kilday then brought down Dundee's Jamie McCluskey and Milne kept his cool from 12 yards, driving the ball straight down the middle of the goal.
But there was still time for Ryan to snatch a point for the visitors when he followed up Kilday's effort to drill in from 12 yards.
