Do you write about Scottish football? Cast your vote in the 2012 online writers’ awards

As the Scottish season inches towards a close we are pleased to announce the launch of this year's Online Writers’ Scottish Footballer of the Year award.

Whether you have your own blog, write for someone else's, contribute to a podcast or write features for a Scottish football website, we want your vote for the best Scottish player of the last 12 months.

What we need from you is your pick of the top five Scottish footballers of the 2011/12 campaign, whether they play in the SPL, SFL or elsewhere in the world. The only stipulation is the player *has to be Scottish*.

Last year's runaway winner was Blackpool's Charlie Adam, perhaps he deserves a second consecutive title for his season at Liverpool? Steven Fletcher has been one of the few bright spots in an otherwise dark season for Wolves. Charlie Mulgrew has been a pivotal player in Celtic's title winning season, while Jordan Rhodes, Paul Dixon or Robert Snodgrass have been in fine form throughout the year.

The choice is entirely up to you. The only rule is that the players you pick must be Scottish.

To cast your vote, simply register your interest with us before May 11. To do so, e-mail sport@stv.tv, make sure the word ‘award’ is in the subject line and tell us your name and where you write. We will reply to you with information on how you can make your choices and some further details on how you can get involved further.

We will run through the top ten at the end of the season and see who the online writers chose as this year's Scottish player of the year.
