Kilmarnock manager Kenny Shiels says he turned down an approach from an English club this week to stay with the Ayrshire side.
Shiels, who was linked with Bournemouth, reiterated he sees his future at Rugby Park with discussions planned over a new contract.
Paul Groves was handed the manager’s job at the League One side on Friday.
The Northern Irishman led Killie to seventh place in the SPL table, adding to their League Cup success earlier this term.
And ahead of talks with chairman Michael Johnston, Shiels says he wants to continue working at Rugby Park.
He said: "I don't think I'm the right person to ask. I'm waiting on the chairman getting back to me so hopefully that will be concluded shortly.
"We've got a long-term plan in place and I want something that's commensurate with that.
"I've turned down a job this week. I was offered to go for an interview for a job on Wednesday and I didn't take it because I felt it was unfair. It was an English club, that's all I will say."
Shiels, who saw son Dean make financial sacrifices to remain with the club in January, added: "I couldn't look my son in the face when he has stayed for less money.
"So I've decided I want to be here and hopefully that's reciprocated."
