Stuart McCall has urged Motherwell fans to sell out Fir Park for their Champions League qualifier against Panathinaikos.
The Steelmen, involved in Europe`s elite club competition for the first time, were drawn at home in the first leg of the third qualifying round against the Greek side with the return game in Athens.
Fir Park holds around 13,700 and manager McCall is hoping the unique occasion will entice the Motherwell fans to snap up every ticket for the match which takes place on July 31 or August 1.
He said: "The opportunity to get Fir Park full is there now, there’s no excuses for nobody – let’s get this place full and have a crack at it.”
McCall said he was familiar with some of the Greek side, including former Rangers defender Jean Alain Boumsong and Greece captain Giorgos Karagounis, who scored the goal that secured his country's place in the quarter finals of this summer's European championship. But, he added, once the game kicks off "names count for nothing."
The former Rangers, Everton and Scotland midfielder admits that his team are outright underdogs in the tie, but feels that should Motherwell give it their best shot they have a chance.
