Jamie Langfield is set to move to Forfar Athletic on a short-term loan deal, Aberdeen boss Craig Brown has announced.
The goalkeeper, who suffered a brain seizure in the summer, has so far failed to win back his place in the Dons first team, with loanee David Gonzalez currently first pick at Pittodrie.
Langfield then will head to the Second Division to get game time, before returning to challenge Jason Brown for the number one jersey when Gonzalez returns to Manchester City in January.
“It's not finalised yet, just one or two administrative details [to be resolved],” Brown said.
“The arrangement will be to get as many league fixtures in the month, in the 28-day emergency loan period, as possible.”
Prior to the summer, Langfield was Aberdeen’s number one goalkeeper and has made 225 appearances since moving to the club in 2005 from Dunfermline Athletic.
