Dick Campbell admits that his Forfar side's Scottish Cup game against Aberdeen could provide much needed finance to his team, but retains the idea of the romance of the cup.
A money-spinning tie against Rangers in last season's fixture helped ease financial strain on the club, and Campbell knows that a game against Aberdeen could provide similar cash-relief, particularly if his team can force a replay.
The former Dunfermline manager said: "The financial gains are there for everyone to see. When I came to this club we were in a lot bigger debt than we are now. We were fortunate to get the live game against Rangers and that kind of eased our debt a bit.
"Every manager at our level has to look after the finances. Getting the replay and taking them up to Aberdeen would be a magnificent result in terms of finance."
However, Campbell has played down his side's chances of being the latest in a long line of SFL sides to eliminate Aberdeen from cup competitions.
He continued: "From the players' perspective I want them to be thinking 'we don't get a chance to play Premier League opposition, let's see how good we are.
"I hope it's pouring rain, I hope it's snowing and I it's slidey and I hope they're murder, because that's the only way we're going to beat them on the day."
Despite his pessimistic outlook on the result, the manager retains some optimism because he knows only too well the results that the Scottish Cup can throw up.
He concluded: "Our players are going to go out there on Saturday thinking they're going to win the game. It's a tall order but it's the romance of the Scottish Cup."
