Craig Brown has tipped recent Aberdeen signing Danny Uchechi to come good for the Dons, following a difficult debut.
The Nigerian forward was thrown into action in the first half of the Dons’ Scottish Cup win over Queen of the South, replacing Mitch Megginson on the left flank.
Uchechi found it tough to get into the game at Palmerston, but Brown says the former West Ham United player will adjust to the Scottish game.
"It was difficult for Danny and it was maybe a bit unfair to put him on for his debut in a game like that," said Brown.
"We tried to replace like for like as Mitch had been doing very well on the left wing.
"I felt Danny could do the same but maybe the game was just too Scottish for him. He will get better."
Andrew Considine netted in injury time to send Aberdeen through to the quarter-finals, with Queen’s Ryan McGuffie having cancelled out Fraser Fyvie’s opener.
"We always keep going - that's one thing I will say about this group of players," added Brown.
"We are fit and we have commitment, but the quality of the play at times did not make me proud."
