Jamie Langfield will make his first competitive appearance for Aberdeen in 11 months when he starts Saturday’s match with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

The Dons goalkeeper suffered a seizure in the summer, ruling him out of training until his return in October.

Langfield, 32, played two games on loan at Forfar Athletic in December and will take over from Jason Brown for his side’s first post-split SPL fixture.

Craig Brown said: "Jamie Langfield will play in goal. He's been patiently waiting and he's been doing well in practice games that we've arranged.

"We had a game against St Johnstone midweek and he had a clean sheet.

"He's done very well in the friendly games at Peterhead and Forfar. He only had two games when he went out on loan unfortunately, so he hadn't enough match practice for us to consider him."

Craig Brown also confirmed that he would be in the market for a "stellar" signing if he could identify such a player.
