Three and easy for Airdrie
Airdrie pushed struggling Forfar closer towards the relegation fight in a 3-0 win at New Broomfield.
Chances were at a premium in the first half and neither goalkeeper looked under any real threat of conceding.
Derek Holmes had an early chance for the hosts but he failed to keep his header down following Jamie Stevenson's corner.
Forfar had a couple of speculative efforts after 15 minutes but Dale Hilson and Kevin Byers were both off target.
The Loons came closer minutes before the break but Nicky Low's effort was tipped over by Grant Adam.
It was the hosts who took the lead nine minutes after the restart, Jamie Bain finished from close range after good work by William McLaren.
Craig Wilson's foul on John Boyle allowed Paul Lovering to double the advantage from the spot after 75 minutes.
McLaren ensured victory four minutes from time with a neat finish inside the area.
