After mounting a late charge to reach the play-offs, Airdrie United boss Jimmy Boyle wants his players to stay true to their attacking style of play.
The Diamonds sat in mid-table for much of the season before winning seven of their final ten matches, drawing two and losing just one.
Now Boyle has told them to stick to what they know best.
He said: "We got into a play-off position by attacking teams and there is no point in changing things now.
"I will be sending my team out to win this game and then doing the same on Sunday."
It has been an up and down season for Ayr United. They finished second bottom of the First Division table despite a part-time squad putting in some fine performances.
Brian Reid’s side reached the semi-finals of the League Cup as well as a strong Scottish Cup run.
And Reid is readying his troops for two big battles against the men from Lanarkshire.
He said: "Our players will need to stand big and strong for the entire game as Airdrie will be out to make this a really difficult evening for us.
"We will have a number of youngsters in our line up and they will have to put on a mature performance in what will be a fairly tough encounter."
