Goalkeeper John Calder has shaken off an ankle injury as Elgin look to see off rivals Annan and move even closer to their first-ever promotion play-off place in their 12 seasons as a Scottish Football League club

Calder will get his chance from the start as regular number one Zander Clark is suspended.

A bumper crowd is expected at Borough Briggs as fourth-placed Elgin host their closest rivals for the final play-off berth.

Manager Ross Jack welcomes back Jamie Duff, Ross O'Donoghue and Stuart Leslie however Paul Kaczan remains out with a back injury.

Jack said: "We have never been in this position before but hopefully everyone on and off the pitch can be patient as we look to get even closer to the finishing line."

Annan have striker David Cox available for the make-or-break promotion play-off game in the Scottish Third Division.

The 23-year-old forward returns following a three-match ban, but injured midfielder Ben McKenna has been ruled out of the long trip north.

Goalkeeper Craig Summersgill, defender Steven Swinglehurst and midfielder Jack Steele all face late fitness tests.

The Galabank side sit five points behind their fourth-placed hosts and manager Harry Cairney is stressing the importance of victory.

He said: "We have the chance to get back into things and fully intend to take it.

"A win would pull us closer and make it a very interesting last few weeks of the season.

"They will be hurting after losing 8-1 at Alloa and we need to be prepared for a backlash from that."
