Football Talk: Green's last roll of the dice, Celtic defender set for Spain

Scottish football's pivotal week kicks off on Tuesday as talks continue over the chances of newco Rangers finding a league to play in.

Charles Green has made a last-ditch effort to convince SPL chairmen to vote "yes" at Wednesday's share transfer ballot, despite seven clubs having already declared they will vote against.

SFL teams will descend on Hampden to discuss their own proposals to accommodate the team in the First Division, although clubs are queuing up to say they oppose such a move.

In the world outside of Rangers, Hearts appoint their number two to John McGlynn, Real Zaragoza look to Celtic for a defender and Graham Hunter wages war on those who branded Spain's performance at Euro 2012 "boring".

No vote will be taken at the meeting of the 30 members of the league at Hampden on Tuesday.

After talking with people here at home we came to a conclusion with supporters saying "Iam not buying a ticket if my club votes for Rangers"and Rangers supporters saying "Iam not buying a ticket if Charles Green owns the Rangers"and that conclusion is that because of the supidity and immaturity of those supporters and club owners Scottish Pro Football will eventually vanish completely.The demise will start because club owners will not be intelligent enough to find a punishment for Rangers while keeping money made from t.v contracts and sponsors.The ordeal won't really affect Rangers supporters or the club that much as they can still put 50,000 supporters in Ibrox each game and still have Rangers t.v to accomodate supporters around the World regardless of what league they play in.

They're not being asked about Rangers, they're being asked if they mind the rules of the game being suspended for one club, formed two weeks ago, which isn't, and never has been, a member of the SFA, SFL or SPL.

Of course, I can't see why anyone would object to that...

Oh Dear oh dear, Declan can't you see your scorched earth, baby and bath water, but Daddy it's not fair dog with a dirty bone approach to life is very sad indeed. It's not that you don't have a point about fairness and equal treatment but your bully boy whinging attempts to ignore the reality that the game is about to die and that fairness is not always about blindly sticking to the rules

Not at all, I have faith in the clubs to do the right thing, to listen to their fans, and to say that we will not permit a newly formed club to skip as many divisions as they want, while everyone else pays for it.

Of course, if Doncaster, Regan and Longmuir get their way, then the game won't be around in 2 months time.

Amuses me when football supporters are regarded as competent people to decide the rights and wrongs of football's refereeing decisions, of managers abilities, of players placement on the park, etc, and even more when they reckon they know employment law, civil law, what a Ltd company is and so much more.

Historically there have been hundreds of Ltd companies failing or deliberately put into liquidation each year to avoid paying taxes and creditors as that's what liquidation allows. In many cases a phoenix or newco is set up using a different name but the business trades as they did before, selling the same products or services.

In some cases hundreds of people lose their jobs and other businesses can be pulled down as the money they are owed is lost and they suddenly have no money to pay their workers or suppliers.

In many cases it's a deliberate immoral act carried out by people who don't care about ethics or honesty or credibility and you can be sure that many of the people who behave this way are football fans and that a fair few are on forums like this spouting off about the need for INTEGRITY in the running of football clubs.

The current situation with Rangers going bust was the result of someone with great ambition being thwarted by National government decisions which prevented the expansion of Rangers with the addition of Hotel and casino developments as Glasgow was denied a Gaming licence.

The much written about tax avoidance was a perfectly legal method of reducing tax liability which thousands of individuals and businesses have used for many years but the government decided to make the method illegal in 2010 which would have caused a lot of problems for many companies, not just Rangers.
