Henrik Larsson has admitted his loyalties are split between Celtic and their European opponents Helsingborgs.
The former Parkhead number seven, who was voted by the club's fans as being the greatest ever foreign player to pull on the Hoops, started and ended his playing career with the Allsvenskan outfit.
On Friday, Celtic were drawn against Helsingborgs in a the final qualifying round before the Champions League group stages.
In an interview with the Celtic official website, the former striker said the media interest in his thoughts on the tie was similar to when he played for Barcelona against the Glasgow side in 2004.
He said: "This is a really tough one for me and I am caught in the middle between Celtic and Helsingborgs.
"Helsingborgs gave me a start in European football and Celtic made me the player I was, so it is not easy for me to pick one over the other."
He added: "It won’t be easy for Celtic to go and pick up a win, but if I was pushed I would say that having the home match second may just give a slight advantage to them.
"A lot of people have mentioned Helsingborgs’ start to the season but they are the champions and finished second the previous season. If you look at how they play they are very good defensively and don’t concede many goals."
On August 21 the Scottish champions travel to Sweden for the first leg of the tie, before hosting Helsinborgs at Celtic Park on August 29.
