Benfica coach Jorge Jesus believes his side were unfortunate not to leave Glasgow with all three points from their game with Celtic.
The two teams played out a 0-0 draw in their opening Champions League group stage match, with Benfica arguably creating more chances in a game lacking in continuous goalmouth action.
Fraser Forster had to keep out both Rodrigo and Ezequiel Garay, with Nicolas Gaitan and Oscar Cardozo also going close.
"We deserved victory," he said. "We knew it was not going to be an easy game.
"Celtic are a hard team who play very aggressive football with high balls but defensively we were very good and victory would have been deserved."
Celtic however will feel slightly aggrieved they didn’t seize an opportunity to grab all three points and Jesus believes they didn’t do enough to see off his side.
"I have said before that Benfica, Celtic and Spartak will fight hard," he added.
"But they [Celtic] did not take advantage tonight."
