Celtic have added to Ally McCoist's January transfer woes after Rangers target Pawel Brozek claimed he has agreed a move to Parkhead.

The Ibrox boss had identified the Polish striker as a possible loan signing to partner Nikica Jelavic in the Rangers attack but it believed that the Trabzonspor hitman has set his sights on a move to Old Firm rivals Celtic.

Brozek, quoted in the Sunday Mail, said: "This is a great move and I can't wait to get started.

He added: "I have been told plenty about Celtic from my former team-mate Maciej Zurawski and Lukasz Zaluska.

"Lukasz will welcome me when I arrive. They have both made me aware of the club's great history, the atmosphere inside the stadium and the passionate supporters.

"Celtic showed more determination than any other club to sign me and now I want to repay their faith."

McCoist, who guided his team to a four-goal win over Hibs to close the gap at the top of the table to just one point, has been left frustrated in his attempts to bring players to Ibrox during the transfer window.

Rangers have had failed in their attempts to bring in St Johnstone's Francisco Sandaza and Bosnian striker Zlatan Muslimovic, with later opting to go on trial at Sunderland instead.

Meanwhile, Swedish under-21 midfielder Mervan Celik remains the only addition to the Ibrox ranks since the window opened.
