Neil Lennon says he is relieved the January transfer window passed without any of his Celtic stars leaving the club.

Gary Hooper, Anthony Stokes, Paddy McCourt, Ki Sung-Yueng and Mark Wilson were all linked with moves away from Parkhead.

All remained at the club and Lennon says he is pleased to be able to move forward and plot his team’s challenge for the SPL title knowing he has a settled squad.

“I've seen more up here then I've seen of my family in the last three or four days,” said the Celtic boss. “There's been a lot of toing and froing.

“We've brought a couple of players in. Thankfully we were able to keep all the players that were being speculated about.

“That's it. The squad is settled now and we can look forward to the next three or four months.

“We were definitive on that we didn't want to break the squad up. We are pleased to have done so.”

The manager also added Mikael Lustig, Rabiu Ibrahim and Pawel Brozek, and also confirmed a late move for Newcastle United striker Leon Best fell through on deadline day.

“We did try and get Leon in and a deal was agreed between us and Newcastle,” Lennon said.

“But Leon felt that, with a young family, it would have been disruptive for him to come up here. We wish him well.”
