Scott Brown is keen for Steven Fletcher to settle his differences and return to the Scotland fold.
The Wolverhampton Wanderers striker is currently frozen out from the national side, having declared himself unavailable to play for a Carling Nations Cup tie with Northern Ireland last year.
With ten goals to his name in the English Premier League this season, supporters are keen to see Fletcher back in the squad.
But manager Craig Levein refuses to pick up the phone to the player, believing it is up to the player to make contact.
Brown though is keen to see his former Hibernian team-mate recalled and says he would make a valuable contribution to the Scotland squad.
"Yes, definitely, but it is out of my hands," said Brown. "It is up to Steven and the gaffer but it would definitely be good if he could get back in the squad.
"I flip on the television every week and he seems to be scoring goals and celebrating.
"Everyone knew he could do it at Hibs, maybe a few people doubted him going down to England but I knew he definitely had it in him."
