Pawel Brozek has complained that he wasn’t given a chance to show what he could do during his time at Celtic.
The Polish striker joined the club in January on a half-season loan from Turkish side Trabzonspor. After making just two substitute appearances and one start, he has been released early in order to attend a national team training camp.
Reflecting on his time in Glasgow, he said that he was unhappy with how he was treated at Celtic.
“I changed clubs to play as much as possible,” said Brozek, who is hopeful of leading the line for the host nation at the European Championships this summer.
"Things did not work out for me as I would have hoped at Celtic.
“I don't want to leave and start complaining that the coach didn't play me and he picked other players.
"But the facts are Neil Lennon promised something different from what actually happened. I didn't get any opportunities.”
Brozek said that he now hoped to finish the season on a high with a good showing at Euro 2012 but admitted he had been worried that being out of the picture at Parkhead would affect his international career.
“I had a lot of concerns because I did not play regularly but I was being told by people that I would be chosen by Poland,” he said.
“I can’t say yet that I am fully included though because the coach still has to take the squad down to the final 23 players.
“I've had a terrible season in Trabzon and in Glasgow. Now I am very hungry indeed for success at Euro 2012."
