Dundee United have fitness concerns over four key players ahead of their city derby with Dundee.
The Terrors have doubts over attacking duo Gary Mackay-Steven and Johnny Russell, who both pulled out of the Scotland Under-21 squad this week.
Defenders Gavin Gunning and Sean Dillon are also being monitored ahead of the derby at Tannadice.
Mackay-Steven is struggling to shake off a knee injury and will have it scanned this week to try to get to the bottom of the problem.
Russell and Dillon both have groin injuries while Gunning has a back strain.
United assistant Gary Kirk, training the squad while manager Peter Houston is on Scotland duty, told The Courier that the quartet were a cause for concern in the tangerine camp.
Kirk said: “These four guys are giving us a wee bit of concern. It will be towards the end of the week when we will really know where we are with them.
“They are all obviously big players for the club and we only have a small squad but I am hoping that, at least, we will get three out of four of them fit in time for Sunday.
“If we get all four of them fit it would be a prize but we will just have to wait and see.”
