Dundee United have turned down an offer from Huddersfield Town for two of their stars.
A bid of £1.25m was made by the Yorkshire side to buy Johnny Russell and Gary Mackay-Steven from the Tannadice club.
The bid was rejected by the SPL team.
Huddersfield sold star striker Jordan Rhodes on Thursday to Championship rivals Blackburn Rovers.
The sale of the Scotland internationalist brought in £8m for the Terriers, who are looking to replace his goals in the team before the transfer window shuts on Friday night.
