New Dundee United striker Milos Lacny says he has put his failed trial with Celtic behind him and is focused on becoming successful with Dundee United.
The Slovakian striker became Peter Houston’s only deadline day signing after sealing a 12-month deal from Sparta Prague following a positive trial period at Tannadice.
It was Lacny’s second time in Scotland after being unable to win a contract with the Hoops last summer.
But the 23-year-old says he has put the disappointment behind him and wants to prove his worth.
He said: “When I was on trial with Celtic I was 100 per cent certain I would be offered a contract.
“It was enjoyable and I did well but at the end of the day things did not happen.
“I know they have good strikers at Celtic but I would have felt confident competing with them. But it didn’t happen so I moved on and am glad to be with United.
“Now I want to use my time here to show Celtic they missed out by not signing me. And it would be good to get a goal against Rangers to prove that.
“That is a big game and to play at somewhere like Ibrox will be a good experience. Hopefully we will get a good result.”
He added: “I am pleased to be here. I enjoyed being on trial and wanted to sign.
“There were other options at other clubs but I thought this was the best move for me at this time in my career.
“I wanted to come to Britain to experience playing in a foreign country.
“I know about the SPL, everyone knows Celtic and Rangers, so it is a good league to play in and hopefully I will be able to make my debut on Sunday at Ibrox.”
Peter Houston added: “I’m delighted to get Milos signed up and it was a surprise we got him in the end. We didn’t think we’d be able to do it financially but the terms changed and we were able to get it done.
“He is very good technically but will have to toughen up for life in the SPL.
