Former Kilmarnock and Hibernian striker Colin Nish has agreed a six-month loan deal with Dundee.

The 31-year-old was targeted for a return to Rugby Park by Killie boss Kenny Shiels but the Ayrshire side couldn’t agree terms with the forward’s parent club Hartlepool United.

Nish, who scored 46 goals in 161 games between 2003 and 2008, has now agreed to join Barry Smith’s SPL side.

He becomes the club's ninth summer signing and follows the capture of fellow attackers John Baird, Carl Finnigan, Mark Stewart and Martin Boyle.

A statement from the club read: “The club can confirm that terms have been agreed with Hartlepool United for striker Colin Nish.

“The big centre forward who played in the SPL previously with Kilmarnock and Hibs is set to join Dundee FC on loan at least until the January 2013 transfer window and is travelling north to Scotland today [Wednesday].

“He will be training with his new Dens Park team mates tomorrow [Thursday].”
