Dunfermline manager Jim McIntyre was thrilled after seeing his team secure an overdue league win.
The Pars tasted their first SPL triumph in three months with a 3-0 away victory over Kilmarnock thanks to goals from Andrew Barrowman, Joe Cardle and Liam Buchanan.
"I was really pleased, that win was a long time coming. The players were exceptional in difficult conditions," said McIntyre.
"Scoring the first goal gave us a bit of belief and then Iain Turner made a great save from Garry Hay just before half-time.
"I felt we thoroughly deserved the win and defeating Kilmarnock 3-0 on their home patch is a fantastic result."
The Fife club remain bottom of the table but are only one point off Hibernian.
And McIntyre feels their win in Ayrshire can give his players the confidence to believe in their survival dream.
"We have to remember it's just one result, there is almost half a season left to go, but this will give the players a lot of confidence," he insisted.
"We had a go at some of the players after the cup result in midweek and there were some home truths told. Today they came back superbly."
